Blueberry Caesar

Blueberries can be found all over this great country and are used in plenty of food dishes, both sweet and savoury. This Caesar combines blueberries with a classic brandy liqueur, Grand Marnier. Although both ingredients are sweet, the addition of fresh cracked black pepper brings a savouriness to this Caesar that is unique. Add some Canadian cheese curds to the garnish of pepper-dusted blueberries and you’re sure to be pleasantly surprised.

Spice Level


Fresh cracked salt and black pepper with ground dried blueberries


  • ½ oz (15 mL) fresh lemon juice
  • 2 dashes jalapeño hot sauce
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 4 grinds fresh cracked black pepper
  • 6 blueberries
  • 1 oz (30 mL) Grand Marnier
  • 3 oz (90 mL) Mott’s Clamato Cocktail


  1. In a mixing glass, muddle everything but the Grand Marnier and Mott’s Clamato Cocktail.
  2. Add the Grand Marnier and Mott’s Clamato Cocktail, and stir well to mix and spread the flavours around.
  3. Rim a highball glass and fill to the top with ice.
  4. Strain the mixture into the highball glass, and garnish.
