Last year’s winner Michael Truong thrilled judges and participants with his inspired take on tradition – The Saigon Caesar. Scroll down for the recipe that took top honours.

The Winning

Saigon Caesar

Rim 16oz glass with Lemongrass salt
Fill 3/4 with ice


  • 1.5oz Bombay East Gin
  • 3/4 oz Fish Sauce
  • 1.5oz Lime shrub
  • 1 bar spoon sambal
  • Fill with Mott’s Clamato, stir


  • Garnish with pickled daikon, carrot, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeno.
  • Lime Shrub - 2 limes, 2 cups of sugar, 2 cups of wine vinegar.
  • Lemongrass Salt - crushed/dehydrated lemon-grass, Kosher salt.
